Cape Fear Museum


Cape Fear Museum is the region’s resource for collecting, preserving and interpreting objects related to the history, science, and cultures of the Lower Cape Fear. The Museum’s new facility at Grace Street features a primary history and science gallery called Cape Fear Stories spanning two floors, an early learner gallery featuring a two-story climbing structure called Port City Play, a hands-on STEM gallery called Science Matters, an outdoor nature terrace with water play table called Curious Nature, a 60-seat planetarium, and a 5,000 square foot rotating exhibition gallery. In addition, the Museum offers educational programs throughout the year for people of all ages.
